Speed Camera Fine Increases

Speed camera fines have increased in work zones and they are doubled if workers are present.

Effective January 1, 2025, speed camera violation fines have increased in work zones. The fine amounts are variable depending on how many miles you are over the speed limit in work zones:

12-15 mph over   $60.00

16-19 mph over   $80.00

20-29 mph over   $140.00

30-39 mph over   $270.00

40+ mph over       $500.00

In addition, work zone violations with workers present double the fines:

12-15 mph over   $120.00

16-19 mph over   $160.00

20-29 mph over   $280.00

30-39 mph over   $540.00

40+ mph over       $1,000.00

This is a huge increase since speed violations were $40.00 under the prior law before being changed to $80.00 on June 1, 2024. Watch your speed!
