Areas of Practice

Automobile Accident Attorney

We are ready to assist you with all of your claims arising out of a car accident. We know that automobile accidents can cause stress due to missed time from work, mounting medical bills, and the loss of your car while it is being repaired. We have over 35 years of experience in handling automobile accident claims and litigation in every county in the State of Maryland. We are ready to help with the property damage claim including making sure the insurance company pays the cost of repair or total loss, rental car expenses, storage and towing fees, and any claims for diminution in value.

The other driver is also responsible for your bodily injury claim which will include medical bills, lost wages, pain and suffering, and other damages. We fight hard to get fair compensation for our clients. You can also make a claim for Personal Injury Protection against your own insurance company to cover medical bills and lost wages up to your PIP limit if you did not waive the coverage. All automobile accident cases are handled on a contingency fee (usually 1/3 of the recovery unlike some attorneys that charge 40%) and there is no fee unless we obtain a recovery. We advance all case expenses. While our office is in Towson, we handle automobile accident cases throughout the State of Maryland in Towson, Baltimore, Bel Air, Elkton, Glen Burnie, Ellicott City, Rockville, Upper Marlboro, Frederick, and Annapolis. We are prepared to file suit and try your case if the insurance company does not offer you fair value.

We handle car accidents, trucking accidents, pedestrian accidents, and motorcycle accidents. We respond promptly to all telephone calls, e-mails, and texts. Contact us to discuss your case.

Workers' Compensation Attorney

If you were injured on the job, you are entitled to make a claim for workers' compensation. Our law firm is here to help you. The workers' compensation carrier is required to pay your medical bills and prescriptions without any co-pays or deductibles, temporary total disability if you miss more than three days of work which is paid at 2/3 of your average weekly wage, vocational rehabilitation benefits if you have to be retrained to change jobs, mileage to and from your medical appointments, and for any permanent disability for your on the job injury.

All fees in workers' compensation cases are set by the Workers' Compensation Commission, do not usually exceed 20% of an award, and are paid out of your award. We handle workers' compensation hearings at all locations including Baltimore, Abingdon, Beltsville, and Frederick. We have been handling workers' compensation cases since 1988 for hundreds of clients.

Criminal Defense Attorney

It is natural to panic and have a great deal of anxiety if you have been charged with a crime. We can help to determine the best strategy to obtain a good result. You should not speak with the police, but instead should exercise your constitutional right to remain silent. Instead, you should contact an attorney who can assert defenses to the charges and prepare your case for trial. At the same time, it is important to take steps in mitigation which can be the difference between going jail and maintaining your liberty.

We strive to make our attorney's fees reasonable and manageable. We have handled criminal cases in numerous locations including, but not limited to, Towson, Essex, Catonsville, Baltimore, Elkton, Bel Air, Glen Burnie, Annapolis, Ellicott City, Westminster, Hyattsville, Upper Marlboro, Silver Spring, Rockville, Frederick, Snow Hill, and Hagerstown. We handle misdemeanors and felonies including assault, theft, malicious destruction of property, trespass, harassment, violations of protective and peace orders, and many others. We have tried criminal, driving on a suspended, and DUI cases and gotten acquittals. If there is a triable issue, we will be ready to take your case to trial. We handle bail review and violation of probation hearings. Contact us for a free consultation.

DUI/DWI Attorney

If you have been arrested for driving under the influence or driving while impaired, you probably received numerous citations. In addition, the police officer most likely confiscated your driver's license and issued a temporary license good for only 45 days. It is important to speak with an experienced DUI/DWI attorney immediately. There is a very short time deadline to request an administrative hearing or your license can be suspended for up to 270 days for a first offense or two years for a second offense depending upon whether you took the test and the results. We can evaluate whether there are issues that can be raised at the MVA hearing or whether you should elect the ignition interlock. We have won many MVA hearings over the past 27 years. We have obtained acquittals and dismissals in DUI cases for both alcohol and drugs in numerous jurisdictions including Carroll County, Cecil County, Baltimore County, Howard County, and others. There are special circumstances for those with a commercial driver's license or who need to drive a work vehicle.

There can be many issues in a DUI case such as whether there is evidence that you were driving the vehicle, whether there was a reasonable basis for the stop, whether you satisfactorily completed the field sobriety tests, whether you were properly informed of your right to take or refuse the breathalyzer test, and many more. We examine all possible defenses in your case and will raise them in court.

We can also suggest a certified alcohol treatment plan to show the judge you have taken steps to get help and analyze potential defenses to the DUI and DWI charges. It is often advisable to do a Victim Impact Panel through Mothers Against Drunk Driving. We have represented many repeat offenders and believe that it is important for people charged to enter a treatment program suitable for their situation. Every DUI case is different and we strive to achieve the best possible result for our clients and preserve their liberty and their license. We have represented repeat offenders and have even had clients who received a 5th DUI charge. We have handled DUI's in Towson, Essex, Catonsville, Baltimore, Bel Air, Glen Burnie, Annapolis, Ellicott City, Upper Marlboro, Silver Spring, Rockville, Snow Hill, and Westminster.

Traffic Defense Attorney

If you have received a ticket for speeding, failing to stop at a stop sign, an improper lane change, or any other routine traffic offense, you should request a trial in every case where the citation carries points and consider retaining counsel to represent you. Do not request a waiver hearing. A trial requires the police officer to appear in court and many times they do not appear. If the police officer does not appear and there were no witnesses, you will be acquitted.

We can assess what defenses you may have to the charges and discuss whether a driver improvement program may be warranted. The judge has discretion to give you probation before judgment which avoids the conviction and points. Our law firm can even appear for you without your having to be there so long as they are not "must appear" offenses.

We also handle more serious cases like driving on a suspended license, driving without a license, driving on a revoked license, leaving the scene of the accident, and driving without insurance. It will be important for you to obtain your license or insurance if there were issues before court which may allow us to get the more serious charges dropped. We provide a strong and vigorous defense of all traffic litigation cases. While our office is in Towson, we have handled traffic cases in Towson, Essex, Catonsville, Baltimore, Westminster, Elkton, Bel Air, Glen Burnie, Annapolis, Ellicott City, Hyattsville, Upper Marlboro, Silver Spring, Rockville, Frederick, and Hagerstown.

MVA Hearings Lawyer

Our law firm represents many people at MVA hearings to prevent the suspension of their driver's licenses. We have handled cases involving DUI's, violations on a provisional license, accumulation of points, violating a license restriction, and suspension attempts by the Medical Advisory Board. These hearings are done remotely using Webex. We fight hard to protect and preserve our clients' driver's licenses. Most of our clients need their licenses to get to work and support their families and we know what evidence is sufficient in mitigation and what weaknesses there may be in the MVA's case.

We have won numerous hearings and can assess your MVA issues in a thorough manner. We will prepare your testimony for the MVA hearing and submit exhibits. We strive to keep your license valid.

Expungement Attorney

If you have been convicted of a crime or serious traffic offense, you should look into getting your record expunged. Employers and landlords frequently check your criminal record which could prevent you from obtaining a job or expungement. You should attempt to clear as many charges off your record as possible.

Every year the legislature makes it easier to get criminal convictions expunged. Even convictions for burglary, theft, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, second degree assault, and many other charges can be expunged after a waiting period.  A probation before judgment can be expunged after three years so long as it is not a DUI. Call our law firm if you have questions about your eligibility for expungement and we can tell you whether you qualify for an expungement. Our fees to get your record expunged are relatively inexpensive in most cases and an expungement will also remove your case from Maryland Judiciary Case Search.
