Scott Scherr • September 29, 2025

Speed camera tickets will be a lot more costly.

It is about to get a lot more expensive if you receive a speed camera violation. Effective October 1, 2025, the ticket you get in the mail will put a serious dent in your wallet. The days of each speed camera violation costing $40.00 will be long gone.

Beginning Wednesday, the following fines will apply:

$40.00 if 12-15 miles over the speed limit

$70.00 if 16-19 miles over the speed limit

$120.00 if 20-29 miles over the speed limit

$230.00 if 30-39 miles over the speed limit

$425.00 if 40 or more miles over the speed limit

Note that speed camera tickets do not carry points. However, they are about to get a great deal more expensive.
